Tahoe in Summer

Hot sunny days are the norm, with highs in the mid 80s (30C) and cool nights with temps in the 60s (18C).   Tahoe has exceptionally clean air with little summer rainfall, and  humidity is low. So temperatures never become uncomfortable and air conditioning is not needed. As a further bonus there are NO significant insects! Spring and autumn have warm to hot days, though nights can become chilly by dawn.

The Lake provides endless opportunities for water sports of all types including swimming, sailing, power boating, water skiing and fishing.

Beaches range from fine sand to secluded rocky coves with Lake Forest beach just 300 yards from our house along a quiet wooded road.

There are numerous local golf courses, riding stables providing all types of riding in stunning scenery, and endless opportunities for hiking and biking.

Fabulous wilderness lakes and magnificent rivers provide wonderful fishing and safe, exciting river rafting.

Local places of interest include museums, art galleries and historical sites and the local calendar is full of festivals, concerts and exhibitions.

Many restaurants are waterside with  great views and excellent "happy hours" ..............

Across the border in Nevada there are casinos for those who feel lucky, featuring excellent shows and restaurants as well as gambling. Further afield and suitable for day trips include the old west town of Virginia City and modern Reno with its shopping malls.
