The Lake

Lake Tahoe lies on the border between California and Nevada high in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The Lake itself is 22 miles long and 12 miles wide with a shoreline of 72 miles. Sitting at over 6200 feet above sea level and surrounded by peaks rising to almost 11,000 feet, it has almost 200 square miles of crystal clear water with a maximum depth of 1645 feet. The entire Lake Tahoe basin is a specially protected environmental area.

The only significant businesses  at Lake Tahoe involve tourism and leisure activities. There are only 50,000 permanent residents in the entire Tahoe basin and the majority of private property owners are part time residents.

The Sierra Nevada mountains lie between the West Coast and the Nevada desert plateau, on the western side of the Rockies and north of Los Angeles.

Getting to SkyLake Club's house at Lake Tahoe is easy. It's 209 miles (about a 4 hour drive) from San Francisco airport and an hour from Reno airport.

Tahoe City is on the North Shore and about 20 minutes drive from Truckee on Interstate 80
